View QuoteThe advantage is that the upper receiver is milled/reinforced to support the rail, essentially creating a monolithic upper since it's bolted to the receiver rather than the barrel nut. It is a rock solid setup.Aero offers a variety of handguard lengths available in picatinny, Keymod, or M-Lok, so it's not like there aren't a lot of options to choose from. Not to mention the Seekins Precision offerings that will also work. So, if you like the looks of the handguard options, this is definitely an upper you should consider. In addition, the upper comes with the proprietary barrel nut and wrench included in the price, as well as the ejection port door and forward assist; they aren't something you have to purchase extra. It's a hell of an upper for the price. Yes, it does limit you to a few different handguard manufactures but how often do you really change handguards? Plus, I like the Aero handguards. They look nice, lock up solid (similar to a monolithic rail) on the upper and you never have to worry about it being crooked because the part that the handguard screws to is part of the upper. No need to worry about lining up the gas tube with the barrel nut either. You can get the black M4E1 upper at Schuler for $95 plus shipping every day and Schuler has a couple different types of Aero hand guards cheaper than Aero.
You're looking at $107.28 shipped if you order from Aero and use the 10% off code and around $105 from Schuyler shipped. Below is one of my rifles with an Aero M4E1 upper and Aero 12in M-LOK handguard. Schuyler has an Aero 15in Keymod handguard for $140. You could get the upper and handguard for $235 plus shipping. Schuyler also has the Aero lowers cheap, the Gen2 lowers are $55 and the Liberty flag Gen2 lowers are $70. I just noticed that Schuyler has the tungsten M4E1 upper, lower, 15in Keymod handgauard and trigger guard for $350.

That is a great deal. For your build, you could go with one of Aero's 15in handguards. That should look good on an 18in barrel. Originally Posted By QtrHorse:I Like the ones I have. When the Magpul versions go on sale for $160, it's hard to pass them up because of what you get. I can barely put the very lowest cost parts one together for that much and that would be with a basic grip and basic stock.I pieced it together - but I do enjoy the furniture!
It's good to go for sure. For $160 I'd be all over it. I built these two on Aero standard uppers. The top is my son's with the Aero rail and BAR nut.
It has been finished with a flash hider since the pic was taken. MI rail on the bottom rifle.I liked the rail on his so I am in the process of building another one with the M4E1 upper. All three rifles are built on Aero uppers/ lowers.
I'm building the the new one because Mrs. AZNemesis50 likes the one I built first, as in, not mine anymore. I'll see how I like the M4E1, so far I do.
We bought all the uppers/ lowers from Schuyler, good deals and just over the hill in town from me.
